PROFILE MANAGER : Psion®-based cutting software

profile cutting machines The Profile Manager is profile cutting software using the Psion® and works in conjunction with a CNC controller on the cutting machine. It is designed to allow the benefits of CNC programming on machines that would otherwise be uneconomic to equip with a controller and complex software, such as small machines or jobbing machines. It is very easy to use and comes with easy to use help information.

The Profile Manager is the ideal solution. Its ease of use means that machine operators will have no problem in using this software which in turn will greatly increase the usefulness and capabilities of your cutting machine.

Defining Shapes
cnc plasma cutting Shapes are created for cutting in two main ways:
Firstly, they can be created using the inbuilt library allowing the external shape to be designed first and then any number of different holes are added creating an infinite number of shapes.

Secondly, a drawing may be imported from almost any CAD system via the DXF format and PSIWIN PC software. A pierce point, lead in, cutting path and lead out are created for the external shape and holes.

Both forms can now be nested onto a plate in any combination or quantity. The plate is selected from standard sizes or alternatively a custom size can be defined.

The Cutting Process
Once finished, the machine controller can then load the whole nest and proceed to cut all the shapes in just one process.
Parts can also be chain cut - cutting several parts without having to turn the cut off. Multiple cutting heads can also be used.

Ease of Use
The transfer of single parts or complete nests to the machine is via a separate transmission program. Simply connect the Psion® using the supplied cable and enter the program number.

Most machine controllers also have the ability to teach or digitize a shape drawn on paper. This can then be saved, viewed and nested by the Profile Manager.

Software is available for the Psion® "Workabout RS232" and is pre-installed onto a RAM cartridge.

Programming
The Flamtek Enterprise is easily programmed by using either the Flamtek Profile Manager or C-Cut CAD/CAM PC-based software.
